Arsenal are five points clear at the top of the table, but will now the hard part is still to come with Manchester City breathing down their necks. Tottenham legend Glenn Hoddle says the Gunners are rightly top of the league, but expects them to make signings in January to consolidate their position.
"I was working a few years ago with [Ian] Wrighty and I said 'give it three years and Arsenal might be ready to win a title'. I thought it would take three years. They were so vulnerable defensively, but they're way ahead of where I thought they would be.
But this January could be different. All Premier League sides will go into the next transfer window after a World Cup that could have a massive impact on their squads and the fitness of the players returning from a big tournament.

"They've got to be contenders, they're top of the league and the league is very open. I think they should and will do [go out and make a statement signing]. It's tough in January, it would be worthwhile going for it, they're in a strong position and think it's worthwhile going for a couple [of signings] probably."
The January transfer window is not normally one Arsenal are busy in. When they are it has not always been successful - Martin Odegaard and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang being notable exceptions in the last few years.
