Excellent in one vs one situations and capable of playing anywhere across the front three, Schjelderup is also blessed with an excellent shooting technique, which he has unleashed on numerous occasions at club level.
He has so far scored 10 goals and registered one assist for the club in 17 games in the league, averaging 0.79 goal contributions per 90, which has helped FC Nordsjælland to the top of the Danish Superliga with just one game left until the winter break.

One such name may already be on the club's radar. And amid 'guarantees' to Jürgen Klopp that the transfer policy will remain unaffected amid FSG takeover talk, perhaps a move could be in the works.

"Of course, it was a bit hard (turning down Liverpool), because when you grow up, you watch the big names and then you hear that they want you, so your head starts to spin," he told GOAL.

However, Schjelderup instead opted to sign for FC Nordsjælland, in a move which has paid dividends so far. Still just 18 years old, he has now already made over 50 appearances for the club's first team, the kind of exposure that certainly wouldn't have been possible had he moved to Anfield.
The club's strategy always has to be focused on building for the future, and finding the next wonderkid. Simply put, that is how you stay ahead of the game in modern football. And so Julian Ward and co, experts in their field, will likely continue to do exactly that in their hunt to find the next big talents.

Nonetheless, Liverpool may still retain an interest in the player. Danish outlet Ekstra Bladet reported that Liverpool scouts were present in the big-table clash between his side and FC Midtjylland last weekend, and while that game may have ended in a drab 0-0 draw, on the whole Schjelderup has certainly caught the eye so far this season.
