But it was the opener that was most important, with Liverpool scoring first vital for how the rest of the contest unfolded — and the embarrassing collapse of Manchester United.
Defensively perfect, it was also Robertson who created the opening goal, with the kind of pass that some of the game's elite playmakers like Trent Alexander-Arnold or Kevin De Bruyne would have been proud of.
Robertson at his best is relentless, just like Klopp's Liverpool as a team, and they did not stop to give their opponent an inch in the second half, using the intensity they had generated to further build the momentum.

But in left-back Andy Robertson, Jürgen Klopp's side arguably found its best performer on the day, in a match that produced several candidates for the Man of the Match accolade.
